what keeps allan up at night?
the giddy excitement or uncertain nervousness of something huge happening the next morning, and the pleasures and pressures associated with those respectively. if the next day's just like any other, then the crippling heat or getting sucked deep into a youtube rabbit hole (or both!) keeps me up at night.

how do you decide when to take the photo?
photos are an extension of your memories, so when i see people giving positive vibes i press that shutter! that natural energy will be obvious to see; photos will look organic and effortless rather than forced and awkward. after all, you'd want photos to immortalise a moment of joy rather than remind you of something you'd forget, right? if im shooting landscapes or street, i shoot when i see interesting colours, textures, scenes and compositions, or when i feel fully immersed in my surroundings.

light or dark?
both! theres endless amounts of beauty in both light and dark, you just have to go out there and find it.

dream spot to shoot?
my all time dream spot to shoot, past or present, is hong kong back in the 70s-90s, where giant neon signs were everywhere. Wong Kar-wai vibes. unfortunately the majority of them are gone now, replaced by sterile LEDs (which are great dont get me wrong, but theres nothing quite like the soft and warm glow of neon). that being said, id love to go back to brazil and south africa (especially rio de janeiro and cape town), and shoot my way around the most beautiful places with some of the most amazing people in the world, thats the dream.
